Reflected Virtual Exhibit

At Sasaki’s Art Gallery, the team set out to showcase an exhibit within the lobby of Sasaki’s headquarters. The gallery walls were painted, vinyl graphics printed, and all were ready to put on the exhibit when Covid hit. After realizing the exhibit could no longer take place in person, the team decided to reimagine the exhibit in a digital world, creating a virtual reality exhibit. Utilizing programs like Revit and Rhino the team built the existing lobby space in a virtual world and laid out the art as it would have been in the actual built environment. This Virtual gallery lets you experience the art as a viewer would in real life, you can walk through the lobby, stop at each piece of art or graphic, read information, and click to find out more about each artist featured. The website has been designed to showcase the exhibit on both a webpage format and as a virtual reality experience through the use of an oculus.
The exhibit itself is a collaboration between Sasaki, Isabella Stuart Gardener, Oh! Art Agency, and Feda Eid. “REFLECTED invites you to reimagine a future that reflects us all, presenting a visual story by photographer Feda Eid. The portraits are set against the dramatic, complex backdrop of the Isabella Stewart Gardner’s museum’s galleries. Institutional spaces like these have historically excluded the stories, faces, and bodies of marginalized identities. Eid’s series foregrounds millennial artists and visionaries from Boston who bring their diverse backgrounds and experiences into their work.” (Oh! Art Agency)
